Juan Ruiz

Juan Ruiz, Student Services Specialist

Juan grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and came to Humboldt County as an undergraduate student. He was attracted to Humboldt County for the incredible access to the outdoors and the small communities. Juan graduated from Humboldt State with a degree in Critical Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. He went on to receive his Masters Degree in Student Affairs at Colorado State. 

Jeanne Marie Riecke

Jeanne Marie Riecke, Administrative Support Coordinator

What department do you work for, what do you do, and how long have you worked for HSU?

I work for Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as an Administrative Support Coordinator I.   I am permanent as of February of 2019.   

Where did you work before coming to HSU?

I have mostly worked in the court systems as a Supervising Court Clerk or a Court Administrator.

What kind of books do you like? Do you have a favortie author?

Gabriela J Pelayo

Gabriela J Pelayo, Academic Personnel Services Assistant

What department do you work for, what do you do, and how long have you worked for HSU?

I currently work in the Academic Personnel Services Office as the Academic Personnel Services Assistant. As the APS assistant I answer incoming calls and greet walk-in guests. I also assist in the recruitment and hiring process for student staff (ISA/TA/GA) and faculty in coordination with other department ASAs and ASCs.

Marisa Genelly

Marisa Genelly, Gift Processing Specialist

What do you do at HSU?

I am a Gift Processing Specialist in the Office of Philanthropy. It is my and my coworker’s responsibility to process, intake, and keep up records for all donations received by the University. Along with the rest of my department team, we input into and maintain the database as well as communicate with our donors with gift acknowledgements. I have been with HSU in this position since September of 2017.

Cheyenne Hoffman

Cheyenne Hoffman, Graduate and Transfer Counselor

What department do you work for, what do you do, and how long have you been at HSU?

I work for the Office of the Registrar as a Graduation and Transfer Counselor. Currently, I am a part of the admissions team. As a member of the admissions team, I evaluate applications of lower division transfers, upper division transfers, and students who have attended HSU in the past and are returning to the university. I've been working with the Office of the Registrar for about 6 months now.  

Angela Rich

Angela Rich, Research Analyst, Institutional Effectiveness

What department do you work for, what do you do, and how long have you worked for HSU?

I’ve been at HSU for four years now. Until recently I’ve worked in Retention and Inclusive Student Success (RISS) partnering with our programs to do assessment and bringing the student voice forward in the research process. I recently transitioned to Institutional Effectiveness (IE).
