Each year during the End of the Year Appreciation Event, Staff Council, in collaboration with the Office of the President, honors and recognizes our staff members for the service milestones of 5, 10, 20, and 30+ years of service to the university. The annual Years of Service Recognition Ceremony is part of a tradition of recognition and gratitude for our dedicated employees, whose accomplishments and outstanding work contribute to the success of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni at Cal Poly Humboldt. Congratulations to all the recipients!

What is the Years of Service Recognition?

Pins in the design of the Cal Poly Humboldt seal are awarded for 5, 10, 20, and 30+ years of service. Top administrators and the University President participate in awarding the pins during the End of the Year Staff Appreciation Event hosted by Staff Council.

When is the Years of Service Recognition given?

The Years of Service Recognition Ceremony takes place at the end of May during the End of the Year Staff Appreciation Event hosted by Staff Council.

What is the general criteria to be eligible for Years of Service Recognition?

Cal Poly Humboldt Years of Service Recognition Criteria:

All employees that are considered state-side, Sponsored Programs Foundation, and Associated Students are eligible. Recipients must achieve their milestone between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022.
Time worked is specific to Cal Poly Humboldt and not the greater CSU system.
Time is continuous service. This includes full-time, part-time and/or temporary employees, as long as the years of service are uninterrupted.
Time is tracked in years as opposed to an aggregate number of hours worked.

*Student employee time does not count toward overall staff service years.
